The MgSnCu₄ (C15_b) Structure

• The official prototype for C15_b appears to be the AuBe₅ structure.
• Replacing the Sn atoms by Mg and setting the Cu internal parameter x to -3/8 reduces this to the Cubic Laves (C15) MgCu₂ structure.
• Removing the Cu atoms reduces this to the Zincblende (B3) structure.
• From the distance data in Pearson we can deduce that x has approximately the ideal value.
